Blogmas Day 1: My Chritmas Playlist

December 01, 2016

My name is Katherine, and I'm a Christmas addict. I won't even try and play it cool, I started listening to Christmas music at the end of October, and I have no shame in it. Christmas is my favourite time of year, it makes me so happy! All the food, family, decorations, and very importantly - the music! For the first day of Blogmas, I thought I'd share with you my Christmas playlist including classics, more modern ones, and even some religious ones.

Classics

The Fairytale of New York - The Pogues
Now I know this song has some offensive words in it, but it is definitely one of the Christmas classics that you have to listen to every year.... and when I say listen, I mean belt out!

Do They Know It's Christmas - Band Aid
They put a version of this song out every year I'm sure, but nothing beats the original version. Some of the lyrics are a little, well maybe not the nicest, but it's a great song to belt out.

All I Want For Christmas Is You - Mariah Carey
This song makes me feel all happy inside, and also reminds me of Love Actually. Can you even go through Christmas without singing this one?!

Religious

December Song - Peter Hollens
This song has some religious lyrics, however the message it sends is that people should spread the love and happiness they do at Christmas all year round. I know this song because my sister sent it me when it came out around a month ago.

Silent Night
Obviously this is one of those songs that you probably sang in primary school, so every time I listen to it now, it makes me feel so Christmassy!

Away In A Manger
Another song you probably sang in school, most likely in your nativity plays where you probably played an angel if you had a childhood anything like mine, haha!

Modern

Michael Buble.
Yes, I know this isn't a song, but anything from Buble's Christmas album is amazing and will definitely help get you into the spirit!

One More Sleep - Leona Lewis
This song is all about counting down the days until Christmas when you get to see a loved one. It's pretty much the upbeat music that makes this song so uplifting, and can help change your mood in a split second.

My Only Wish - Britney Spears
What would Christmas be without your true love wrapped in a big red bow?! Warning: you will listen to this song and still be singing it ten days later because it's so catchy!
