All my Christmas decorations are back in North Wales because I spend the majority of December there. But this doesn't stop me from wanting to decorate my uni bedroom a little too to help me feel all the Christmassy happiness. But as a student, I can't justify spending £5 on one bauble from Harrods even if it is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen! So today I thought I'd share the ways I try to decorate on a budget.
Candles
I have a slight candle obsession. No matter what the season, I will have candles scenting my room. I am one of the people who like really sickly sweet candle scents, especially ones that smell of food. My favourite sweet scented Christmas candles are Yankee Candle's Christmas Cookies, and Snowflake Cookie. But here I have a few different scents - cosy apple and cinnamon, sugared blackberry, and cinnamon.
Sparkles
Can it even be Christmas if you haven't hung up all the glittery things?! These baubles (£2.50) and snowflake (£2) decorations were from Primark's Christmas range and I love them! I have them hanging up on the wall in my room, and it adds sparkles and a bit of colour to my room. The Winter Welcome sign was from Poundland! I swapped it with a floral weekly planner board I normally have above my desk, and love it!
Paper Chains
I used to love making these with my sisters at home, but even since moving to uni, I have loved putting them up. I normally buy mine from Poundland, but you can probably find them at any pound shop. I also never go through a whole pack, so it will last a couple of years.
Fairy Lights
I, like the majority of girls at uni, already have fairy lights up in my room. But if you don't, you can buy really affordable ones from so many shops. And they help add that Christmas vibe even more, even if you don't have a tree.
I didn't realise Primark had such pretty baubles! They're so cheap compared to other shops too x

My mum put me on a candle ban last year and wouldn't let me buy any more because I'm such a hoarder! I totally agree, some pound shops are so underrated for some of their things!
