BRISTOL FREE FROM FESTIVAL

October 30, 2017

On Saturday, the UK's gluten, dairy and refined sugar-free food festival was held in Bristol at the Passenger Shed. With over 50 companies exhibiting their goods, it was the first time the festival had been held in Bristol since its launch in 2014.

The event was super casual, letting visitors wonder around and talk to the companies about their stories, business and products. There was a range of different brands there, including Mumbai inspired food, egg free baking, and even crazier a gluten free insect powder based food company.

At the end of the room, there was a stage where there were talks being held throughout the day including 'How to make gluten free bread', 'Product labelling and allergies', and 'Vegan energy boosters'.

One of my favourite talks was Anna Mapson's talk on how to 'Stay healthy on a dairy-free diet'. Founder of Goodness Me, she spoke about the nutritional aspects of dairy products, and other food sources that can provide you with these nutrients without consuming dairy. There was also some live music to break the day up, which helped add to the atmosphere which was filled of chatter and the smell of amazing food.
