WILD SOURCE APOTHECARY

November 05, 2017

Last week I had the opportunity to go to the launch of a local skincare brand in Bristol. Nerves about not knowing any of the people attending, and the complete confusion of where on earth the Colston Forge was, had completely gone once I walked in. Greeted with bubbly and a booklet about the products and brand, I flicked through to get an idea of what to expect before going over to the table of products.

Firstly, the whole table set up was beautiful, and seemed to fit extremely well for the brand whose slogan is 'Botanical beauty, deeply rooted in nature'. The packaging of the products is simple, but with a classy vibe to it. All the products contain 100% vegan ingredients, and haven't been tested on animals which is amazing!

The first product I had a little play with was the miracle skin oil. Now, I'm not really a fan of more natural scents, like I do not do lavender at all, but I actually really enjoyed the scent of this product. The rosehip and thistle oil add a sense of natural, chemical free skincare, but definitely doesn't over power the product. Once applied the vitamin E helps to give the skin a moisturised feel without feeling sticky.

The hot oil cleanser aims to soothe the skin, and help prevent the aging of skin with its ingredients such as calendula. High in vitamin A and B in the baobab oil, skin is left hydrated, without a heavy feeling on the skin. This product is great for people with dry skin, and will help skin restore its natural properties.

The mask in the range is nothing like I've ever seen before! It comes as a powder, and once mixed with water the clay mask is formed, which once applied helps to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin. Owner Kate, who has studied aromatherapy and blending, says you can also use agave syrup or cold steeped herbal tea when mixing the mask.
