SHADOW SWITCH REVIEW

The lovely people over at Beauty Essentials sent me this dry brush cleaner to test out. At first, I wasn’t really sure what I was expecting it to look like inside when it came. It sorts of resembles a hair doughnut texture if that makes sense and honestly, I was quite sceptical of how well it would work.

The product comes inside a box which outlines the thoughts behind the product - to allow people to clean their brushes eliminating the chance of colour transfer from one shadow to another. It also shows simple directions on how to use it.

Beauty Essentials have redesigned their packaging across all products, so the Shadow Switch now resembles the one in the photograph below instead of the PR one I received.

The first time I tested the Shadow Switch, I used it on these three different brushes after applying my eyeshadow. The photograph below shows the amount of product was left on my brushes after applying my eyeshadow (as well as showing the texture of the brush cleaner itself).

I was very shocked by the outcome and how well it actually cleaned off the product. The texture of the brush remover means that the bristles of the brush move between the holes for a deeper clean than just the first layer. After using the Shadow Switch, I ran the brushes across my hand to see if there was any residue left, and to my surprise there wasn't!

I think this is such a good idea, especially for someone who doesn’t have a wide range of brushes as you can clean them as you go along, and don’t have to wait ages for them to dry. Although this works really well at cleaning dry brushes after every use, I wouldn’t rely on it as your only source of cleaning your brushes.
