Moving to uni was, and I'm sure is to everyone, a really nerve wrecking time for me. I was so anxious about meeting new people, but so excited at the same time. But I can hands down say I've met some pretty amazing people since living in Bristol. And people I can be 100% myself around (let's put it this way - many High School Musical performances have happened). In halls, I was pretty close with two of my flat mates, and spent most of my evenings just hanging out watching films and commentating whilst the boys played Fifa (and failing at teaching me how to play).
As far as relationships go in uni, I swear it is one of the most debated topics whilst your here. Everyone has their opinion, about moving to uni in a relationship, getting in one during your degree, or being single throughout it. No matter what situation you are in, everyone will have an opinion, and people will definitely tell you it. For anyone that knows me well, they'll know I'm not one to really talk about my relationships, especially to those I don't know well. And even though people know this, I still get grilled quite often, especially during pre's, but I honestly find it so amusing how intrigued people are. As far as I'm concerned, as long as someone is happy and being safe - whether single or in a relationship - that's the main thing.
Me and my Uncle
The last type of relationship I have managed to build whilst at uni is with family. I'm really fortunate to have some family who live in Bristol, who I have become so much closer to since moving to the city. I'm one of those family types, I am honestly inseperable from my sisters when I am at home, so it's so nice to have people in Bristol that I can turn to if I ever need to.
Looks like a cool uncle! 😉
