Life in the City

August 08, 2016

Life in the city is very different to what I’m used to.

Growing up I’ve lived in a village, the middle of mountains and in a small town. I do love the city life, but sometimes it can be very overwhelming. I’m used to seeing loads of people you know when you leave the house. I’m used to one main road and a few side roads coming off that. I’m used to the busy, loud sound of my home with my 5 sisters.

I do love the city life though. The first city I fell in love with was London in summer 2013. My sister was living there for the year and I spent a few weeks with her. During the day she was working, and I was left to explore and walk around the city. And that’s where it began. I loved that there was so much to do. On every street there was so many interesting places. And, yes, I do love the tourist stuff, but I also love finding little independent shops and cafes down random streets that no one knows about.

I applied for uni in London as well as other cities across the UK, but when I came to my interview in Bristol, it felt like somewhere I could see myself. It was like London, but smaller. The people seemed more friendly. And the lady at my interview just swayed my opinion more.

In September 2015, I moved to Bristol.

So now this is my life.
